Throwback to the day I met Luna. She was so tiny,

Throwback to the day I met Luna. She was so tiny, crouched in a crate among dozens of other shelter dogs at the adoption event. She had a scrunchie on because they couldn’t find a small enough collar.

I was feeling a mixture of overwhelming joy, excitement for starting a new chapter in both our lives, and complete terror at not being enough. The first few nights were rough- she had kennel cough, which I had never heard of before. I remember lying on the floor next to her and the CVS humidifier I bought at midnight, thinking she would die the first night I had her.

But she was a trooper, and the next days bled into weeks, months, and then we arrived at 10 years of her by my side. 🌙❤️
